Drunken violence caused an early shut-down at a Roxby Downs venue on the weekend.
Roxby Downs Tavern management closed the bar early on Friday night because fights were breaking out in the front bar.
Constable Ben Jankovic reported that there had been a number of incidences of violent behaviour among patrons of the Tavern on Friday.
Brawls had broken out in the bar and there were a number of street offences committed.
One man was booked for urinating in a public place.
It backs onto reports of car vehicle damage in the Tavern precinct the previous Saturday night.
Rachel Williams was attending a birthday party in the Tavern and left her vehicle there overnight.
When she returned to it in the morning it had a 40cm by 40cm scratch along the side.
The vehicle is still being assessed by her insurance company.
"It's a deliberate, malicious attack on the car," Rachel said on Monday.
"It was quite a shock."
Rachel's car was probably by itself in the park at the time of the vandalism.
"It must have happened sometime after 12 o'clock," she said.
"It's not good to know that this is what the town has come to."
There have been multiple cases of drunken behaviour at the pub over the years.
There were 490 new workers in town for the mill shutdown on Friday, at the end of their two weeks.
"The pub shut early because someone was acting out," said a regular tavern customer, who wished to remain anonymous.
"There was one mob who brought a taxi over from Woomera and when they got here the pub was shut … you see how a few bad eggs can spoil it for everyone."
In the coming weeks there will be a Whenan Shaft shutdown for a couple of days and then the ANI mill will be in shutdown, and then the smelter will be shutdown for up to seven days.
