It was a evening of hard, fast racing at the Red Dunes Raceway on Saturday night, with competitors eagerly taking the opportunity to have a test run before the June long weekend's State Titles.
Roxby Downs Sporting Car Club President, Carl Bartlett RD30 made his welcome return to the track with a car full of horsepower, and quite a bit of dirt at the end of the nights racing. Jonathon Hill RD42 also made a successful return after competing in the Targa Tasmania.
The night saw a few incidents on the track, which took two cars out of the event.
Brain Welk PA10 from Port Augusta hit the wall in his open wheeler, breaking the steering arm.
A later incident saw Steven Bartlett RD45 have a run-in with Tania Johnson RD40 at the end of the straight, narrowly missing the wall and on coming traffic.
All drivers managed to escape unscathed and the cars will be repaired in time for the State Titles in Whyalla.
While most drivers were busy enjoying a night of good, clean racing, a few managed to find time to take the scenic tour of the track through the dirt.
Roxby's drivers will be competing in Whyalla at the State Titles on the June Long weekend; all supporters are welcome to attend.
